Pro #5: 'Twas the Night Before Chemo

December 26, 2012

These days, we could all use some inspiration. I’m getting mine from Jack Jackson, a fellow public relations practitioner and friend, who recently found out that he has pancreatic cancer. Jack is using a weapon against cancer that our healthcare system can’t provide – a sense of humor.

As one example, he rewrote, "The Night Before Christmas" with a chemo thing. Anyone who can find humor in chemo has my admiration. I’ve included the first few lines below, but would encourage you to visit Jack’s blog and read the whole thing:

'Twas the night before chemo when all through the ward

not a staffer was stirring (in fact they're quite bored).

The IVs were hung on infusion pump poles

Preparing to play their neoplastic-fight roles.
