David P. Kowal, founder and president, will manage your account, and provide all planning and copywriting with input from the Kowal Communications creative team as needed.
Since founding Kowal Communications, Inc. in 1990, Dave has built his business into one of the area’s most well-known and respected marketing communications agencies. Clients of Kowal Communications have included Fortune 500 companies, such as Fidelity Investments and Allmerica Financial; industry leaders such as Fallon Healthcare System, whose HMO was named the number one HMO in the country, and high-tech companies, such as The Source Recovery Company, which developed the only technology for recovering missing source code.
He is also the founder of 3D-PR Inc., a public relations collaborative with a dozen senior-level practitioners.
Previously he served as Director of Public Relations/Senior Copywriter at Howard Advertising and Director of Public Affairs at a national small-business organization. He was also a business reporter at The Worcester Telegram, and freelanced for The Boston Globe and other publications. He holds an MBA from the Clark University Graduate School of Management, where he was a charter member of the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society, and has earned professional accreditation in public relations from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).
He co-founded and is a past president of the PRSA/Central Mass. Chapter, and is a former director of The Ad Club of Greater Worcester and the Society of Professional Communicators. He has served on the boards of various non-profit and civic organizations, and chaired the board of The Barton Center for Diabetes Education, Inc. for nearly four years. He has presented numerous seminars on marketing-related topics, is the recipient of various writing and marketing awards, and has written two books.
A Vice President at Kowal Communications since the firm was founded, Chris provides media relations assistance, research and other services to clients. She earned her MBA from Western New England College and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.
Sunny Lake has received numerous Emmy Awards and Telly Awards, including the prestigious 25th Anniversary Classic Telly Award. He also served as producer and arranger for a triple platinum record album. He has produced post-scores and jingles for national commercials for Pepsi, Taco Bell, Corona, Reebok, Greyhound and Gravy Train, as well as film/post-scores and theme music for hundreds of TV shows and commercials. He is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Nancy Mannion, owner of Harvest Design, has worked with Kowal Communications for more than 15 years, providing design services for projects such as logos, brochures, newsletters, ads and direct mail. Previously, she served as director of publications at Mount Wachusett Community College, designer and publicist for the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford and designer for Chevalier Associates. She has also volunteered her services for a variety of community projects. She is a graduate of the BFA program at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth.
With more than 20 years of experience as a creative director, Mr. Pascal is the founder of [content haus]. He previously served as Director of Creative Strategy for Access TCA, one of the country’s leading exhibit service companies. At Access TCA, he supervised a team of 3-D exhibit designers, graphic designers and graphic production staff in Massachusetts and Atlanta, creating exhibits for Jaguar, Hasbro, XM Radio, EMC, Thermo Electron, Monster, Fidelity, Nypro and other major accounts.
Steve also has 17 years of experience working for Massachusetts advertising agencies, creating print collateral, corporate identity, trade show exhibits and packaging. He is a graduate of the New England School of Art & Design and has won numerous design awards.
Stephanie Pierce-Conway, owner of Pierce Conway Design, has more than 25 years of experience as an expert visual problem-solver. She excels at graphic design and production management of information design projects including marketing collateral, Web design, direct mail, information graphics, tradeshow and event graphics, corporate publications, and package design.
She has worked with Kowal Communications for more than 15 years, and enjoys collaborating with creative professionals and corporate management to define communication and design goals. Her prior experience includes working for various design studios in San Francisco, California and Worcester, Massachusetts. She is holds a bachelor's defree in fine arts from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth.
Arthur Sesnovich, founder of AGS Public Relations, has worked with Kowal Communications for more than a decade. He has an extensive background providing public relations services for high-tech, healthcare and financial service clients. After graduating from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, he began his career as a reporter for various New England newspapers, serving as managing editor for several trade publications in Atlanta, Ga., and as a senior writer at Phoenix Communications. He joined Fairfield Communities, an international land development corporation, as Public Relations Director and Senior Editor, then Corporate Media Communications as Senior Writer, working with Fortune 500 companies such as IBM, AT&T, Hitachi and Unisys.
He established a highly successful public relations department specializing in high-tech clients for CMC Advertising & Design, then became Director of Advertising and Public Relations for Tara Hotels. After leaving Tara Hotels, he established the Boston area office of Hoffman & Hoffman, a Washington, D.C.-based public relations firm. He created AGS Public Relations in 1995 and has worked with clients ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies.
JoAnne is a marketing/communications generalist with broad experience spanning an array of media and audiences. JoAnne helps her customers to manage their online identities through social media, helping organizations to extend impressions on original content, drive inbound traffic to their website, nurture connections, demonstrate value and knowledge, and stay top-of-mind.
Jeff Tate has been a graphic designer for 27 years. He is currently president of TateDesign, a full-service graphic design studio specializing in print and Web-based design solutions. Prior to starting TateDesign, Jeff was Art Director of The AT&T Business Network on the Interchange Platform. In his role as Art Director, he supervised a team of designers and illustrators for this first generation Web site launched in 1996. Also during that time he was Associate Professor of Design for the Art Institute of Boston.
Jeff spent 11 years working for Boston area design studios creating print collateral, corporate identity and packaging. He is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design.
